I also have the same issue. I also have a problem with starting sway:
wlc complains about not being able to open /dev/input/event0 or logind not present.

Has anyone got an answer elsewhere?

I made some more tests and I realized that both weston and sway start if I run as root and define XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=/usr/lib

so basically there is some kind of permission issue that makes it impossible to start a wayland session as a user.

Hi,

have anyone set up a wayland DE (with orbital for example) with alpine linux?
A howto (minimal install alpine, wayland, orbital or another one would be great.
